Well we've been in Charleston now for just over one week. We rolled onto Broad Street Sunday June 29 and then left not long after, the same night in fact, for Folly Beach. Folly Beach is a fantastic little hideaway beach, the digs are humble and not overly pretentious, the people are genuine and kind and you can walk everywhere there in about 6 minutes. When we got to Folly we sort of scratched our heads as to what we were going to do for parking and subsequently decided to settle the matter by having a pint at the Rock N' Roll Thunder House (or whatever the place is called). There we met Brittany who gave us the lay of the land. So we went and walked around for a bit, then returned to the same 3 seats at the pub, only this time, something was different. There were two 20 somethings chilling in the seats next to us, Jonathan & Lacey; this was of little relevance until the Darkness came over the Stereo and Tommy, Jonathan & Lacey were all singing each and every word. Grant & Drew remained suspicious, eyes rolling, somewhat in awe that there were in fact two other people that knew the lyrics to the Darkness, but either way it served as an excellent icebreaker.

The next thing we know we're heading down the road to a beach house where Jonathan and Lacey live... a place with ample parking for a bus. So then we chilled, went to the beach, went to Bert's (if you've been there, you know whats up, if not... its only understood by experience) and enjoyed the company of our fast friends. Through them we met a handful of other great people (and a few not so great ones) but in general it was a great experience while we were waiting for the work week to begin. We played Conch on Thursday night which is an outdoor patio 2 blocks up from the ocean that sits high enough that the music seems to serve as a soundtrack for the little beach town, then Beerworks on Saturday (where Tommy was hilariously informed that he was the sexiest man one girl had seen for 5 years... then had the title taken away as she decided it was better suited to Grant, but Tommy was still afforded the number two slot), and on Sunday night we played the Blind Tiger (A place which is home to the sweetest back garden you can imagine, with ruins of an old building and all) and so it was a good week of work.

Now Tommy & Grant sit in pensive thought, listening to Moby, contemplating their next move in the chess game of life. Will they head to Myrtle Beach, Mimosa Monday or kick it in downtown Charleston for a few more days in hopes to play the coveted gigs of Johnson's, The Brick or Big John's? Moby isn't making the decision any easier, its just leading to a discussion of who is actually singing on the track. Perhaps if the Darkness were to come on next the boys would be overwhelmed with the clarity & insight to make the right call. But tragically, The Darkness never seems to make its way into trendy, euro-hipster coffee shops so the confusion remains.

IT'S HERE!!!

So with all the excitement and forshadowing we've been working on for the last few months the record is finally finished and in our hands. We're really excited about how it all turned out. If you happen to pop by one of our shows you can be one of the first to pick it up, otherwise, drop us a line and we'll ship one out to you. Should be available on Itunes very soon.

In the meantime, we've uploaded the song "Clear To See" for you to take a listen to so please drop by, take a listen, let us know what you think. We'll keep you posted as new songs get uploaded.

So we're leaving savannah, GA right now. On the road, endlessly in pursuit of the next Crackerbarrel… fortunately for all of us we have managed to find the only 120mile stretch of interstate in all of Georgia without a Crackerbarrel. I'm sure we'll be able to tell you about the hickory smoked bacon, the blueberry pancakes & the scrambled eggs with cheese on them within a few hours, but the hour drags on endlessly as we await our prize.

As for news much more relevant to all that is fact & fiction, we had a great stint in Savannah while we were there. We played four shows Murphy's Law, Molly MacPherson's, Bay Street Blues & Live Wire. The people were fantastic, the clubs were great & we're really looking forward to the next time we get to spend a few days there.

As for moving on, we're on our way to Hotlanta, so if you're in the area and can come out to Smith's Olde Bar on Wednesday night you won't be disappointed. If not, keep your eyes glued to what we have going down, we'll be in your area soon enough!

So here we are in Savannah, GA. It's a lovely city with splashes of European design and good old fashioned comforts.... like heat... and Starbucks... and wifi

Its really lovely, we're on our way to completing our UK tour; last night we played Murphy's Law, a great Irish Pub. Tonight we play at Molly MacPherson's, a great Scotish pub; lastly we tried to lock down a gig at Chuchill's, a huge English pub. It would have been a lot cheaper than actually touring the UK, but, alas, we only did 2/3's of it.

The tour is going very well. Grant has really out done himself by finding electricity in every city we've been. It was particularily awesome with his bursting into city hall to demand that the city afford us power. We're going to get a lapel camera for him, this stuff is too good to be true.

Music is life. The next leg of the tour is already coming together so well. America may not be ready, but she's gonna get ready. fact & fiction is here. CD drops this Tuesday.

Well its been a few days, but we have some more news for you. We spent a few great days in Destin and then passed through Tallahassee and Gainesville on the way to Tampa. We are now sitting in Tampa, starbucks in hand, and life is great! We are playing tomorrow night in this really hip joint called Crowbar that is in the center-ish of the historic Ybor city.

We've made great friends here already, the kindness of the good people at Hilton hotels and at the Rock n' Sports bar have been ever so hospitable towards us and we're in a good place. Its simply beautiful here, the combination of art and history in these buildings makes it a certain checkmark on the list of places we simply have to return to.

We've been playing well, we've been enjoying ourselves and would be amiss to not give a shout out to Trisha & Steve at Funky's in Destin. Its so great to be working hard and constantly run into people willing to extend a hand to you, Trisha & Steve went far beyond and we are all looking forward to the next time we get to hang out with these good people.

Life on the road is exciting. Always something new going on that we didn't expect, for better or for worse, but its always worth the laughter. One point of note is our back up camera on the bus, which allows us to see what's happening behind her, has a bad wire somewhere so every time we head out there is a question as to whether the machine is going to work or not. I'm sure its not thing a pair of scissors can't fix (PROLIX PROLIX!!!)

Lastly, we had a tire malfunction, and while we were envious of Ken's sweet 75 strat, he was nice enough to show us the simplest way to fix a tire with a busted stem. It was far easier than we had thought, and neither of us got impaled by a tire stem sitting on 95 pounds of pressure in each and every inch. We're not RV experts yet, but we're getting there.

Anyways… this is just a quick update… more to come soon. We've been taking lots of pictures and are just waiting for the right cable to hook it into the computer so ya'll can see the great places we've been and the great places we're headed to.

The hardest thing about being a touring band is not so much the playing or the strain or figuring out where you're going... after all, we love to play and its no more straining than working in a restaurant, and we have our digital girlfriend Mandy to guide us with ease to any destination we might desire... the hardest thing is living in a RV and trying not to go bankrupt running the generator all night in the hottest cities in America during the hottest months. To remedy this there are a few options, the most ideal of which is shore power. We at fact & fiction love shore power. It's basically our ability to run the air conditioner at a very low expense to whatever unassuming corporate giant was kind enough to leave a 110V outlet somewhere on their parking lot.

Last night was almost the most ideal of ideal. We found this great parking lot with lots of outlets... it was surrounded by restaurants, clubs and some very high class condos and hotels. We were truly in paradise... they had a shuttle service that would run us wherever we wanted to go on the property and when the security guard, Alex, came up to see what we were doing he was cool with us staying for the rest of the week in Destin. Perfection.

and then...

About 2:30 A.M. the power all at once went out. Not in the complex, just at the back of the parking lot. As though some evil genius had calculated the exact moment that boondockers would be comfortably sleeping and when the A/C would stop working, consuming said boondockers with the utmost of humid Floridian heat. Hoodwinked again!

So at 3 A.M., after checking every outlet in the parking lot, we drove back down to the coast to crack the windows and at least enjoy the sea breeze... well, the sea breeze was warm and damp and followed by rain... this was truly another day in paradise.

Alright, so here are some updates for you. first of all we've tried to jump on board with this thing called tumblr... we have a page at www.factandfictionmusic.tumbler.com where there will be obscure little postings and things... tommy hasn't been able to quite figure out exactly how to use all the features on it, but he's getting there. We're gonna keep the posting different from what you find here so make sure you pop by often and see what we're getting into with weird pictures and little stories.

In other news we did get to do an on air interview at 90.7 the capstone the voice of the university of alabama. We got a few songs from the new record loaded and had a few spins while we talked about the tour and the record and all the good stuff that is fact & fiction... we thank Alex Jones for hooking that up for us.

We also did a last minute show at the Yellow Hammer in tuscaloosa last night which was a total blast. really great people were hanging out and its a great environment, we're hoping to be able to bring the full band through here in the fall and really make this place shake.

Now we're off to Prattville, getting ready to meet up with our merch dude and really start kicking it hard before we hit the coast. we'll catch you all down there.

We've been spending the last few days up at Lake Lurleen just north of Tuscaloosa, AL and enjoying the beautiful weather and lake where we have been relaxing. The park is gorgeous… though we were out of our element with no phone service or internet access, it was a much needed break after cutting a record and getting ready to be on the road full time.

We've stumbled upon a few problems since we've been out, we haven't gotten the video camera rolling yet… and the little connector plug that goes between digital cameras and computers to up load the visual aspect of this story has yet to be found on the bus. But we'll get there.

In the meantime, everything is off to the duplicators. We should have a new cut up in the next week or so for you to check out. If you're going to be in Tuscaloosa or Prattville between now and Friday make sure to check us out… We'll write more before we head south to the Pensacola area, but if you're there, we'll see you on the weekend!

we are currently in tuscaloosa, AL with few days off after a few nights of gigging. We're not sure what exactly we're going to do with our time off but it will likely involve relaxing, perhaps by a lake, in the bus.

we do have our t-shirts available now and miles to morning is done... we're just waiting on the turnaround from duplication to get the music into your hands.

its been a few weeks since we have slept and choosing energy efficiency over air conditioning in the over night is not helping much, but that's rock n' roll... and that's what we're all about.

We're in serious lockdown here at Wolf Mastering in Nashville putting the finishing touches on miles to morning so we can get the new tunes up as soon as they are ready. We're very excited at how great the record is sounding and can't wait to get feedback.

On top of all this we'll be in Alabama at the end of the week in the fact & fiction music machine and hitting up florence, birmingham and tuscaloosa as well as a few other stops along the way to bring the music to where it belongs… to the ears of the fans.

So keep yourself close to our site, pop by often and check out the new tunes and tour dates so that we can meet you as we pass through your neck of the woods.

The suspense continues to rise, but the tracking is now finished... This would seemingly make way for a horrible play on words about how few miles are left, but we shall not cross that line.

Anyways, things are very exciting here in the f&f house, we're working on the design for t-shirts and the final concepts for the album art and deadlines rush towards us like the ships in space invaders at the last level.

Not long from now we will be out on the road full time passing through your town and you can see the record, the shirts, the posters, and the band in real life. So make sure to keep your eyes on our tour dates so you can make it out when we're chillin' in your town!

Tonight me and the boys went out to Rotier's in Nashville. This is the restaurant for which jimmy buffet wrote cheeseburger in paradise. There were some of the Rotier's family members working... (both charlie and little charlie) working there at the time and they were just great people. The food is something else, the service was great and the fact that we ate what Jimmy Buffet ate was only slightly less exciting than playing the guitar Johnny Cash signed... but it was close. Fortuntately the Cheeseburger wasn't 50 years old.

That being said, we have the photoshoot tomorrow for the record. This should be really exciting, we're not going to give any hints of what the layout will look like, but Grant tells me we shouldn't have eaten so much heavy food the night before the shoot... but seriously, even he'll admit that it was worth it.

Thanks for popping by and taking a look. more and more exciting news coming every hour.

Miles To Morning Tour Announcement

Oh yes!!! We have begun listing the dates for the summer tour. You should stop by and keep popping by as we continue to update it daily. We will be spending awhile down in the South East at first, but we have full plans to make our way up to the Northeast across to the midwest and down into the deep south... so you can rest assured we'll probably be seeing you soon.

We're finally experiencing the april we were promised upon moving here... the temperature has been rising and the sun shining and it's really quite lovely. We're running around quite a bit trying to get everything ready for the big tour and also finishing the record as soon as possible, so its been a little wild in the house of Fact & Fiction, but good also.

We just wanted to write and let you know we're thinking of all of you... Even though we're short on news, we're off the charts in production... So get ready.

We’re out at dark horse again. This is the second of two days of post tracking where we’ve been laying auxilary tracks... With a killer set of back up vocals going down as this blog is being typed, be assured, this is going to be intense.

Ladies and gentlemen, "Miles to Morning" is on its way to your homes and cars and it will be here before you know it... So get those ears ready for some sonic candy.

Keeping in mind that tour dates should be up on the site before too long, make sure you’re popping by regularily to catch all the excitement.

As we have been putting this new record together we’ve been looking at some options for getting the music out to our fans. We have also been looking at different, creative, and even old school ways of collecting more fans to the many that have already signed on to support our unique expression of music. We are ready to hit the road.

It is our intention to hit as many towns, cities and states as possible and try to offer a fresh new look at southern rock and blues influenced music. This means that we will be eagerly trying to lock down dates wherever good people are, and try to show them what exactly it is that Fact & Fiction is all about. In case you are not aware, we are about entertaining. We are about explicitly honest music. We are about bending the rules in a music industry that is particularly bent towards contrived music. We are about our fans and their enjoyment of songs that hit them wherever they are and lift them to wherever they want to be.

We will be posting dates as soon as they are locked down. There will be some acoustic shows with just Grant and Tommy and there will also be shows with the full band. Both will be exceptional performances with the energy that has already garnered us such success here in Nashville and Los Angeles before that… it will be a deliberate effort to catch people off guard and draw them in.

If you would like to see either the acoustic show or the all out rock show in your hometown, let us know and we will come to you. You can then sleep easy at night, the new face of southern rock is coming to remedy your lack of faith in the music industry and prove that innovative music isn’t destined for the underground, but rather, wherever you are.

Well spring seems at last to me rounding the corner here. At long last we are returning to the glory of Tennessee, one of the most desirable reasons for moving to this great state. Of course the greater reason was for the sake of music, and it seems like we’re rounding the corner on that also. We spent 4 long days out at Dark Horse Recording Studio last week where we finished all the instrument tracks for the highly anticipated follow up project to A Perfect World.

It looks like there are going to be twelve songs on this record… with the bluesy, southern rock sound we’ve been moving towards since moving here but still remaining faithful to the powerful lyric based songs of hope that garnered so much success with the first record. This will certainly be a great disc, with the same personality and quality you’ve come to expect with Fact & Fiction, but with some new bits that are fruits of the sweet tree called progress.

We’ve come a long way in the last year, soon we should have some ideas up for you to listen to and offer feedback on, and we eagerly await the responses as we hope you eagerly await our product.

More details of life in the studio with pictures, stories and music are sure to come out in the coming weeks as we finish things up… but we wanted to give you the inside scoop of the good things that are coming.

Thanks for listening, keep your eyes on our page and we’ll keep you posted on what all are going on.

The band is currently locked out down at Dark Horse Studios in Nashville, TN tracking for their upcoming full length album. They loaded in late last night and went to work this morning; we expect them to have everything wrapped by the first of April which will set us up to release in mid June. Make sure to check the band's myspace page frequently for blog updates on how the tracking is going. We'll be updating you with more info soon...
